Providing a one call does it all service is one of the major benefits clients enjoy when they get the Tech Group of Companies on the job.
One client made the most of this full service, Mackersey Construction, which sub-contracted several divisions of the Tech Group to help carry out a major project in Ahuriri.
Started in November 2008, a close to 1000sqm space behind the main British American Tobacco building in Lever Street underwent a major reconstruction and fit-out into a gym for Napier City Fitness.
The plans included building a basketball court, cardio rooms, main gym area, health rooms and changing facilities, among other things.
Joining Mackersey on the project were Tech Group’s Chilltech, Tech Plumbing and Gasfitting, and Electrotech.
Chilltech and Tech Plumbing and Gasfitting provided mechanical services and air conditioning, plumbing and drainage.
Electrotech came on board to install the electrical, fire protection and data services.
Project co-ordinator Ben Quane says was the first time the Tech Group had so many trades on a single job – six in total.
“It worked out really well to have one point of contact for keeping track of progress, updates, and invoicing variations – Mackersey were very keen to go down that avenue.”
