Stylish, upmarket accommodation and offices at Ahuriri’s No 5 Store |
Alexander Construction’s history of working with Electrotech meant they had every confidence a major commercial and apartment project in Ahuriri, Napier, would go smoothly.
Started in October 2006, the Shed 5 project located at the old Williams and Kettle Woolstore site on Napier’s West Quay was completed at the end of April 2008.
The $10 million project included carparks and commercial spaces on the lower levels, and luxury apartment units worth $1 million to $2 million on the third and fourth levels.
Electrotech staff were awarded the data, electrical and security access installation contract.
“Electrotech kept to the programme which was awesome – and they were also happy to discuss and help with design decisions which was great for a contractor to get help in that area. Their willingness to seek alternative products and designs certainly helped us,” said Alexander Construction project manager Simon Beckett.
“In the building industry you need to have a relationship which gives you the confidence to take on the contract knowing you can rely on the sub-contractors to bring you in on time, budget and quality.”
The fact Electrotech had such a broad range of expertise and resources to pull from to help with the programme, was key to achieving that.
