Electrotech is the largest division of the Tech Group of Companies and our team of highly-qualified electrical technicians have extensive experience on a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Within this division we have specialists in:

Electrical Contracting
The electrical contracting division is one of the larger parts of Electrotech with over 25 electricians, apprentices and supervisors. The main emphasis of this division is commercial and industrial installations both locally and throughout New Zealand.

Fire Alarm Systems
The Fire Division is based in Hawke’s Bay and is FPA certified, insurance council approved, IQP registered, and ISO9000 certified in both Sprinkler and Fire Detection Systems. It is a founding member of the FIRE Plus+ group of companies that has been formed to provide a viable nationwide Fire Protection group.

Phone and Data Services
This division designs, supplies, installs and maintains phone systems, PABX’s, and Data Network Cabling, including Fibre Optic.

Electrical Engineering
Our electrical engineering personnel are experienced with process and automation requirements for factories. PLC system experience includes Rockwell, Omron, Siemens and Modicon as well as a variety of SCADA systems.

Calibration and Scales Division
This specialist division conducts calibration, testing and repairs to scales (including point of sale), temperature devices, and process control devices. It also carries out portable appliance testing and tagging to comply with standards. Thermographic surveys of plant, particularly electrical equipment and cabling, are available as part of a preventative maintenance regime.

Switchboard Manufacture and Design
Electrotech builds switchboards including type-tested Prisma, Cubic, and GAEL. Specially designed boards for food industry and special applications are built in our Napier factory; these include Energy Conservation types, Stainless Steel enclosures and Control Boards.
